The core functions of the Department of Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation  include;

  • Formulation, review and coordination of institutional policies in line with national policies related to MOCII
  • Coordination of MOCII programmes, projects and plans to ensure  they meet the set Institutional, national and International  Trade and commerce goals and targets
  • Design and Monitor implementation of various strategies , plans and policies to ensure the programmes, projects and initiatives are aligned to national and MOCII Trade and Commerce protection strategies.
  • Establish Trade and Commerce protection evaluation tools and mechanisms to be used by MOCII programmes and projects.
  • Collate, analyze and sychronize the projects and programmes plans to ensure they are aligned with the MOCII annual policies and plans
  • Develop and implement appraisal tools and systems to be used for MOCII staff, projects and programmes.
  • Conduct periodical training of staff on new policies, strategies, monitoring and evaluation tools and mechanisms to enhance expediency
  • Prepare and present  MOCII annual plans to  the management to ensure synchronized delivery  and budgeting
  • Provide the plans to the Finance department  for budget allocation.
  • Undertake midterm and end of term review of all MOCII projects and programmes
  • Develop and Present project and programmes summary reports to partners and government  to ensure periodic updates of  MOCII performance.
  • Coordinate the National Trade and Commerce reporting and monitoring reports.
  • Undertake International, national and regional trade research to inform national trade  index.
